I am looking forward to the release of the second edition of The Moral Work of Nursing in June. It includes updated information, along with new chapters in community health nursing (one on public health and pandemic ethics, the other on home health and primary care). Another new chapter reviews aspects of end of life care that now includes the option of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID).
Reviewers have described the book as, fantastic, and a treasure,
capturing readers’ attention through narratives, historical insights, review of nursing literature;
and encouraging reflection on moral challenges that nurses face in their daily practice.
Book launches are scheduled at:
Chapters, Old Strathcona, Edmonton, AB on Saturday, June 17th, 12 noon to 4pm
Indigo Spirit Books, Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, ON, Friday, June 23, 11 am to 2pm.
