Author Hazel Magnussen is launching her new book, The Moral Work of Nursing: Asking and Living with the Questions, on Friday, September 26 at 2pm, 2-190 Edmonton Clinic Health Academy (ECHA), 11405 87 Ave, University of Alberta Campus.
The event will feature Dr. Paddy Rodney, professor at University of British Columbia School of Nursing, speaking about her research in moral distress, moral agency and moral climate in nursing, and a panel discussion regarding issues facing nurses in today’s health care environment.
The release of the book, which is a blend of life story and overview of factors affecting ethical nursing practice during the past 50 years, coincides with the 50TH anniversary of the graduation of the Class of Sept 64 from the University of Alberta Hospital School of Nursing.
Magnussen will also be doing book signings at Coles, Southgate Mall, 11:30- 1:30, Wednesday, September 14th; Indigo Books, South Edmonton Common, Saturday, September 27, 10 am to 12n and Common Ground Community Café, 50 Brentwood Blvd, Sherwood Park, 2- 4pm on Saturday, , September 27, 2-4pm.
